Bradford Estates is one of the UK’s most renowned estates. Steeped in history, many parts of their 12,000-acre land holding can be traced back to the Domesday Book in 1086. Under the stewardship of 36 generations of the Earls of Bradford and their ancestors, and still to this day a family run business, many a Prime Minister, poet, artist and monarch has been entertained here.

In late August 2022, Bradford Estates opened its second boutique homestay for guests to enjoy in this beautiful corner of England. Charlotte’s Folly is a romantic style lodge, which sits on a lime tree lined carriageway, used historically by the Bradford family to connect their stately home of Weston Park with the C19th pleasure ground of the White Sitch. Lady Charlotte Bridgeman, daughter of The 3rd Earl of Bradford, was a talented water-colourist who beautifully captured the Picturesque designed scenery of the tree lined lake, boat house and fishing lodge in the Sitch.

The property will sleep six guests in three individually designed bedrooms alongside spacious bathrooms, welcoming living areas, a well-stocked pantry, bright dining room and a beautiful, fully equipped kitchen. Underfloor heating throughout and wood burners in principal rooms will ensure that winter nights are spent in toasty comfort. The team at Bradford Estates prides itself on having appointed only the very finest designers to restore this hidden gem, from landscape gardener Tig Cameron-Goodman and his wealth of experience worldwide, to the incredibly talented Emma Ainscough, one of the UK’s new generation of leading interior designers.
